STELLAR GYMKHANA

AN INDIAN DELIGHT

IT WAS AN AWESOME NIGHT. AS I HAVE JUST COME BACK FROM ENGLAND. MY FAMILY AND I WENT OUT TO DINNER. AS MEMBERS OF STELLAR GYMKHANA IT WAS EASY TO GET IN. A MEMBERSHIP IS NEEDED THOUGH. THE RESTAURANT WAS PLEASANT. A POOL SIDE VIEW, AIR-CON IN THE SUMMER AND VERY AMICABLE STAFF. THE OVERALL ENVIRONMENT WAS PRETTY AWESOME.

COURSE 1- SOUPS AND STARTERS

                                                                       2.)  TANDOORI CHICKEN 
                                                                       3.)   TOM KHAA SOUP ( THAI) 

THE STARTERS WERE A DELIGHT TO START WITH, AS HALF OF MY FAMILY IS VEGETARIAN, A VEG. STARTER WAS NECESSARY. THE HONEY CHILLI POTATO WAS PERFECT. THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF SWEET AND THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF SPICY. PERFECT BLEND. IT WAS TOPPED WITH MUSTARD SEEDS TO BRING OUT THE FLAVOR. THE TANDOORI CHICKEN WAS PROPERLY DONE. IT WASN'T CHARRED OR BURNED ON ANY SIDE. THE SPICES HAD REACHED THE CORE GIVING IT A FULL FLAVOR. IT WAS ACCOMPANIED WITH AN PICKLED ONION SALAD AND MINTY GREEN CHUTNEY TO COMPLETE THE TRADITIONAL TANDOORI RECIPE. THE SOUPS WERE NOT GOOD ENOUGH THOUGH. THE TOM KHAA HAS A ZING OF COCONUT WHICH WAS MISSING. THE SOUP WAS TOO SOUR FOR ITS OWN GOOD AND MINT LEAVES GAVE IT A WEIRD FLAVOR. BUT AGAIN MY DAD LIKED IT I DINT. ITS ONLY A POINT OF VIEW


COURSE 2- MAIN COURSE

                                                     2.) PANEER TIKKA MASALA
                                                     3.) ASSORTED BREADS

WE WERE QUITE FILLED BY THE STARTERS THE CHICKEN BEING PRETTY AMPLE, WE ORDERED A FEW DISHES FOR MAIN COURSE. SAAGWAALA CHICKEN IS A VERY AUTHENTIC INDIAN DISH. ITS CONSISTS OF PIECES OF WHOLE CHICKEN COOKED IN A CURRY OF SPINACH AND BLENDED WITH INDIAN SPICES.I GENERALLY LIKE IT IN A LIQUIDY KINDA STATE, LIKE A CURRY RATHER THAN IN A MORE SEMI SOLID WAY. IT WAS GOOD THE AS THE PALAK HAD COOKED FULLY AND HAD BLENDED WITH THE CHICKEN. PANEER TIKKA MASALA WAS AGAIN PERFECT. SOFT CUBES OF COTTAGE CHEESE COOKED IN A SPICY TOMATO BASED INDIAN GRAVY. IT WAS AS SPICY AS IT NEEDS TO BE . ONE OF THE BREADS I WOULD LIKE TO MENTION WAS THE KEEMA NAAN THE BREAD WITH A FILLING OF MINCED CHICKEN. IT WAS NOT UPTO MY STANDARDS. THE MINCED CHICKEN WAS KINDA SWEET AND NOT COOKED VERY WELL.
